A Mimic is a chest-like monster in Dungeons and Dragons and many other games. They disguise themselves to look like ordinary chests but instead of containing valuables, they attack the unsuspecting hero trying to open it.

This is the perfect card to protect your hand against the abilities of cards like the Scout, Thief and Kumiho. This is a passive ability, so as long as the Mimic is in a village, it always is in effect.
Strategies[]
The +2 power when hired makes him a good card for a one-time surprise attack but his passive ability to protect your hand make it a good card to place down in a village. Ultimately, if your opponent is constantly using cards that interfere with your hand, the mimic would probably be more useful in a village.
